Sisters at the Well

Friends of Sisters at the Well is committed to supporting young women from underserved communities in their educational endeavors and with leadership opportunities.
Friends of Sisters at the Well, has adopted the oldest Christian based boarding school in the Bahamas. Winermere High School began in 1950 by American missionaries teaching Bible classes on the islands. They realized that family island children had no opportunities for high school education on the island and started the school on the island of Eleuthra.

Currently, the school is operated by a Bahamian Committee of Managers and the fourth President, E. Rosetta Gibson. The school has a strong academic program with a faculty and staff from six different countries. The housing capacity for 25 boys and 30 girls continues to be a challenge to maintain. Sisters at the Well, has joined on as a partner to support the school and it’s goals to graduate responsible citizens and prepare them for leadership.
